Geirangerfjord

Day 32
We started pretty early today and it was raining again. It really is autumn now, leaves are changing colors and some are already falling down. Finally at Örnevegen we were going down and we stopped at Örnesvingen to look down at the Geiranger fjord and the view was amazing. Three huge cruise ships were down there in the fjord. Then we went down to Geiranger because we were actually starving and wanted pizza and beer. We found a nice place, ordered food and charged our cellphones. The place was crowded with tourists, buses were going like shuttle service all the time. This place actually seems more popular than Trollstigen but probably it is because of the cruise ships. Then we were ready for the next "climb"and it looked like we are going up a little over 1000 altitude meters, this is a hard mountain pass. We went to just below 500 meters today and then we looked for a camp spot which was not that easy but we managed.. Buses with tourists kept going up and down, probably to the summit of Dalsnibba and then down again. People were so happy and kept vawing at us. The rain continued. I think it has been raining now for a week and it just keeps coming. It would be nice to have some dry weather. It doesn't have to be hot, just want to get away from this persistent rain every day. Distance today 50 km

Geiranger is described as the jewel in the crown of Fjord-Norway's scenic gems.On the way to Geiranger the roads (many steep hairpin bends) are surrounded by majestic peaks, spectacular thundering waterfalls, lush hills and deep blue fjords.
